Travelling with Clark Griswald

I had to explain to Darryl that when Courtney called him Clark Griswald, it was actually a compliment.

What happened this time.......

We went to buck palace to see the queen, and when Darryl goes to take our pics - this young man asks him if he can take a photo of him in front the Palace gates. So........ we think........Clark - I mean Darryl, took the photo of the guy in front of the gates with our camera and then took our photo with his camera - ah well!!!!!!!!

The next pic is sort of self explanatory. We were just walking around aimlessly when this mob turned up - nothing like a crowd to keep you company.

You can see on the steps all the pro- israeli supporters yelling abuse and what not.

And mum, we were at the British museum.

Corporal punishment in England!!!

When we were at the museum, Mr Ball got so excited that there was a class there learning about the history of geometry that he got Courtney to take a pic - so he could show the kids back at QHS that there is learning to be done in museums.

When Courts went to take the photo, the teacher in question raised her hand to smack one of the kids for being cheeky and talking out of turn. It turns out that corporal punishment is not banned in England - it is only frowned upon at this stage. If only..........

Lost in London!!

Courtney and I, went off for a walk to find some milk and tea and got totally lost.

We asked this big Jamacian looking pommy bloke who we think just made up directions and said "rastafaria rules mon".

We had to ring home to try and get some sense of where we were. In the end we were only 3 blocks from home!!!!

They have these red phone boxes everywhere.

Safely in London

Well, after an uneventful flight (apart from Darryls swiss army knife dramas) we safely arrived at Courtneys. We visited London today, I cant believe how small the streets are and they really have Red double decker buses and black taxis.

As for Darryl!!! Well firstly he tried to take a can of shaving cream onto the plane - thankfully the Canberra airport people sorted that out. However when we over India or somewhere like that, Darryl had me look into his bag. He said "Do you think this is a problem?" and in the bottom of his bag he had mums beautiful gift of a Swiss Army knife!!!!! He had wrapped it in his spare underpants so I dont think it showed up on the x-rays at both Canberra and Sydney!!!!!!

After thinking it through, Darryl called over a hostess and said "I have a problem" He said it was a complete mistake and then showed her. She was really good, said it happens all the time, so she just took it and arranged for it to be posted to Courtney. However it didnt stop there - Darryl broke his food tray when leaning on it to get his bag out of the overhead carrier. He then asked if he could borrow the Swiss Army Knife to fix the broken screw - and after that was sorted he gave the knife back once again. I dont think we will ever see it again.

Anyway more soon, with some pics hoepfully

Welcome to our Europe Blog

Because mum set such a high standard we have decided to create our own travel blog. Once we got past the 'shaving cream' fiasco we safely boarded the plane (after 289 photos from mum).

We are now sitting in the lounge writing our blog, drinking our cuppas and thinking of all the things we have forgotten.
